Its mission is to operate as a public bank that promotes citizenship and sustainable development. Beyond traditional banking services like savings accounts, loans, investments, and insurance, CAIXA plays a crucial role in implementing federal government policies and is the central operator for major social programs, including the Bolsa Família (social welfare), FGTS (unemployment fund), and PIS (social integration program). It is also the leading provider of mortgage financing in the country.
