Northern Skies Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative established in 1965, originally to serve government employees in Alaska. As a not-for-profit institution, its mission is to provide its members with a full range of affordable and accessible financial services, including checking and savings accounts, personal loans, vehicle loans, and mortgages. Unlike a traditional bank, its profits are returned to its members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings dividends, and improved services. Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in specific Alaskan communities.
