Northern Development Initiative Trust is an independent, non-profit corporation established in 2005 by the provincial government of British Columbia. It was founded with an initial endowment of $185 million to act as a catalyst for a strong and diversified economy in its service region. The Trust stimulates economic growth by providing funding and support to local governments, First Nations, and businesses for projects that strengthen communities and foster regional development.
