NBPA
Information by Research TrustFinance
Established in 1954, the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) is the official union for all current NBA players. The NBPA's primary mission is to protect and support the rights and interests of its members. This is achieved primarily through the negotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the NBA, which governs all aspects of the players' working conditions, including salaries, benefits, and player conduct. In addition to its role in collective bargaining, the NBPA provides a wide range of services to players, including career transition programs, health and wellness resources, and financial literacy education. Its commercial subsidiary, THINK450, manages the group licensing rights for the collective of NBA players.
