Founded in 1998, Monarch Bank Holdings, Inc. operated as the holding company for Monarch Bank, a community bank headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia. The bank focused on providing a full range of banking and financial services to small and medium-sized businesses, professionals, and individuals. Its services included commercial and personal banking, real estate and construction lending, and mortgage services. On June 1, 2016, Monarch Bank was officially acquired by and merged with TowneBank, ceasing to exist as a separate entity.
