Founded in 2009, Mocopay GmbH established itself as a global provider of mobile payment solutions, with a primary focus on direct carrier billing (DCB). The company's platform enabled digital merchants to charge for goods and services directly to a consumer's mobile phone bill, connecting them to a network of mobile network operators (MNOs). In March 2021, Mocopay was acquired by Boku, Inc., a leading mobile payment and identity solutions provider, to expand its DCB network and merchant base. Since the acquisition, the Mocopay brand and operations have been integrated into Boku's platform.
