Meili Jinrong
Information by Research Trustfinance
Meili Jinrong, also known as Meili Finance, was the financial services arm of its parent company, Meili Auto Holdings Limited. Launched in 2014, the company established itself as a major player in China's burgeoning fintech scene by focusing on the underserved market of used car loans. It operated a vast network of over 75,000 partner dealers across 30 provinces in China, connecting consumers with funding partners to facilitate vehicle financing. In October 2019, the parent company filed for a U.S. IPO, but the process was abruptly halted in November 2019 following a widespread police investigation into its lending and collection practices, which led to the company's eventual collapse and cessation of operations.
