Founded in 1965 by John F. Keane, Keane, Inc. grew to become a major player in the IT services industry. The company specialized in application development, IT infrastructure solutions, and business process outsourcing (BPO). It was known for its methodologies in managing complex IT projects and providing long-term support for its clients' systems. In 2010, the Japanese firm NTT DATA announced its acquisition of Keane for approximately $1.2 billion. The acquisition was completed in early 2011, after which Keane was integrated into NTT DATA's global operations, eventually becoming part of the entity known today as NTT DATA Services.
