Founded in 2016, Kambista was the first digital currency exchange house in Peru. The company's mission is to provide a simple, secure, and cost-effective alternative to traditional banks and street exchange houses for converting Peruvian Soles (PEN) and U.S. Dollars (USD). Kambista is registered with and supervised by Peru's Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS). In 2021, the company became part of Credicorp, one of Peru's largest financial holdings, which has further solidified its position in the market.
