Its business was built on a patented technology and a concierge concept where franchisees, who did not need to be CPAs, would meet with clients to gather documents, while the actual tax preparation was handled by a centralized team of certified professionals. The company aimed to disrupt the traditional tax preparation industry. In February 2021, the brand was acquired by Fiesta Auto Insurance and Tax. However, following this, the company and its CEO faced significant legal action from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), leading to a court order in 2022 that banned them from selling franchises and effectively shuttered their original business model.
