Founded in 1952, Halton Credit Union operated as a community-focused financial institution dedicated to serving its members in the Halton Region. It provided personal and business banking services, including chequing and savings accounts, loans, mortgages, and investments, with a mission to improve the financial well-being of its members. In 2016, Halton Credit Union members voted to merge with Meridian Credit Union, Ontario's largest credit union. The merger was finalized later that year, and all Halton Credit Union branches and operations were integrated into the Meridian brand to offer members access to a larger service network and a wider array of financial products.
