Founded in 1935, Great Western Bank was a full-service regional financial services company headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The bank focused on relationship-based business and agricultural banking, supplemented by a wide range of retail banking products and wealth management services. It operated an extensive branch network across nine states in the Midwest and West. In 2022, Great Western Bank was acquired by First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. in an all-stock transaction, and its branches and services were subsequently rebranded and integrated into the First Interstate Bank network.
