Globcoin was a project launched to create a more stable digital currency for global use. Its core product was the Global Currency Platform (GCP), a stablecoin backed by a reserve basket of the 15 largest global currencies and gold. The company also issued the GLX utility token, which allowed holders to vote on the currency basket's composition. The platform aimed to provide users with a multi-currency account and a linked debit card, enabling seamless international payments and currency exchange while mitigating the volatility of single-currency-pegged stablecoins. Despite raising funds via an ICO in 2018, the project failed to gain traction and has been inactive since approximately 2019.
