Founded in 2014 in Amsterdam, Ginger Payments (legally Ginger Payments B.V.) was a technology-focused payment company that provided a powerful and simple RESTful API for developers and merchants to integrate various online payment methods. Their platform was designed to act as a payment gateway, connecting businesses to payment methods like iDEAL, SOFORT, Bancontact, and major credit cards. In 2017, the company was acquired by Ingenico Group (at the time operating as GlobalCollect in the region) to bolster its e-commerce payment solutions. The technology and team from Ginger were integrated into Ingenico's platform, and the Ginger brand has since been retired.
