GE Money Bank
Information by Research Trustfinance
GE Money Bank was the consumer finance arm of the American conglomerate General Electric, operating under its GE Capital division. Historically, it was a global provider of a wide range of financial products, including private label credit cards, personal loans, retail sales finance, auto loans, mortgages, and corporate credit cards. Following the 2008 financial crisis, General Electric significantly restructured its business to focus on its industrial roots, leading to the divestiture of most GE Capital assets. The US operations were spun off in 2014 and rebranded as Synchrony Financial. Operations in other countries were sold to various financial institutions; for example, its Czech unit became Moneta Money Bank, and its French operations became My Money Bank.
