FSD Kenya is an independent trust established in 2005 to support the development of financial markets in Kenya as a means to stimulate wealth creation and reduce poverty. The organization functions as a market facilitator, using its deep knowledge and networks to identify and address systemic challenges in the financial sector. FSD Kenya's work involves providing technical expertise, conducting research, and supporting innovations to create a more accessible, efficient, and resilient financial system, particularly for low-income households and small-scale enterprises. It is funded by various development partners, including the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
