Officially known as the Development Finance Institute Canada (DFIC) Inc., FinDev Canada was established in 2018 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Export Development Canada (EDC). Its mandate is to support inclusive and sustainable growth in developing countries by providing financing, investment, and technical assistance to the private sector. The institution focuses on three key themes: women's economic empowerment, climate action, and market development, aiming to combat poverty and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its investments.
