Founded in 2000, EyeOpen aimed to make the Dutch mortgage market more transparent and accessible by offering independent online advice and comparison tools. It positioned itself as a "financial self-help desk" to empower consumers. In 2011, the company was acquired by Aegon, and in 2014, it was integrated into Knab, Aegon's online banking subsidiary (now part of a.s.r.). Today, the services and philosophy of EyeOpen form the foundation of Knab's mortgage advisory services, and the EyeOpen brand and website are no longer active.
