The firm was particularly known for its focus on emerging markets. In January 2015, Everest Capital's largest fund, the Everest Capital Global Fund, suffered catastrophic losses and was wiped out after the Swiss National Bank unexpectedly removed the Swiss franc's cap against the euro. This event led to the firm's decision to close its operations and return the remaining capital to investors.
