De Betaalfabriek
Information by Research TrustFinance
De Betaalfabriek was a joint venture founded by the major Dutch banks ABN AMRO, ING, and Rabobank. Its mission was to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of the Dutch mass payment system. The company served as a central processing house for critical payment methods like iDEAL, SEPA Direct Debit, and e-mandates. In 2021, its operational tasks were transferred back to the founding banks and to Currence, the brand owner of iDEAL, effectively ceasing the independent operations of De Betaalfabriek.
