Founded in 1998 in Smyrna, Georgia, Community Bank of the South was a state-chartered bank dedicated to providing personal and business banking services to the local community in and around Cobb County. The bank focused on building relationships with local customers and businesses, offering products such as checking and savings accounts, loans, and other financial services. On December 8, 2006, the bank was officially acquired by and merged into Synovus Bank, a subsidiary of Synovus Financial Corp., and ceased to operate as an independent entity. All of its operations and branches were integrated into the Synovus Bank network.
