Britannia P&I Club
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 1855, Britannia is one of the oldest and most respected Protection and Indemnity (P&I) clubs in the world. As a mutual insurance association, it is owned by its shipowner members and controlled by a board of directors drawn from its membership. Britannia's primary mission is to provide its members with high-quality, cost-effective insurance against a wide range of third-party liabilities and expenses arising from the operation of ships. It is a prominent member of the International Group of P&I Clubs, which collectively insures approximately 90% of the world's ocean-going tonnage.
