Blikk is the brand name for Hungary's Instant Payment System (Azonnali Fizetési Rendszer), which launched on March 2, 2020. The system was developed in a project led by the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) and is operated by GIRO Zrt., the central clearing house for the Hungarian banking system. Blikk's mission is to modernize domestic payments by allowing for the secure, immediate transfer of funds up to HUF 20 million, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The service enables transactions using secondary identifiers such as mobile phone numbers, email addresses, or tax IDs, in addition to traditional bank account numbers, and also supports features like payment requests and QR code payments.
