Blast is an EVM-compatible, optimistic rollup L2 scaling solution for Ethereum. It was developed by the team behind the NFT marketplace Blur, led by the pseudonymous founder "Pacman." Blast's unique value proposition is its native yield model; unlike other L2s where assets remain static, ETH and stablecoins bridged to Blast automatically earn yield. This is achieved by staking the underlying ETH on the L1 (via protocols like Lido) and depositing stablecoins into US Treasury Bill (T-Bill) protocols (like MakerDAO). The mission is to create an L2 that enables new business models and provides a baseline yield for all users and dApps within its ecosystem.
