The Bundesverband Deutscher Inkasso-Unternehmen e.V. (BDIU), founded in 1956, is the largest trade association for the German debt collection industry, representing the interests of its approximately 500 member companies. Its mission is to support its members through legal and business advocacy, set high standards of professional conduct, and act as an intermediary between the debt collection sector, the public, and political bodies. The association provides training, certification, and a framework for fair and professional debt recovery services in Germany.
