Founded in 1987, the Associazione Intermediari Mercati Finanziari (ASSOSIM) is the Italian Association of Financial Markets Intermediaries. It is a non-profit organization that represents Italian and foreign investment firms, banks, and other financial intermediaries operating in the Italian securities markets. ASSOSIM's mission is to promote the efficiency, transparency, and competitiveness of the Italian financial market by acting as the main representative body for its members in dealings with political and administrative authorities, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Bank of Italy, and CONSOB (the Italian Companies and Exchange Commission). The association also provides studies, information, training, and other services to its members.
