AppCoins
Information by Research Trustfinance
AppCoins is a project developed by Aptoide, one of the largest independent Android app stores. Launched via an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in 2017, AppCoins created an open and distributed protocol for app stores using blockchain technology and its native cryptocurrency, the APPC token (an ERC-20 token). The project's mission is to tackle inefficiencies in the app economy, such as advertising fraud, high transaction fees for in-app purchases, and lack of transparency. The protocol is designed to be adopted by any app store, creating a more universal and fair ecosystem for developers, users, and manufacturers. While the protocol and token remain active and integrated into the Aptoide app store, public development activity and communications have been minimal since 2022.
