Originally launched by Apex Fintech Solutions (formerly Apex Clearing), Apex Crypto LLC was established to provide a "crypto-as-a-service" platform. Its core business was enabling fintech firms, broker-dealers, and financial advisors to seamlessly integrate cryptocurrency trading and custody into their own customer-facing applications. The platform handled the complex backend infrastructure, including trade execution, liquidity sourcing, and asset custody, allowing clients like Webull, Public.com, and SoFi to offer crypto services without building the technology from scratch. In April 2023, Apex Crypto was acquired by Bakkt Holdings, Inc., a digital asset platform, and its technology and client relationships have since been integrated into Bakkt's broader suite of crypto solutions.
