Originally founded in 1950 as the Fort Knox Federal Credit Union to serve military and civilian employees, the institution rebranded to Abound Credit Union in 2020 to reflect its expanded field of membership. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to improve the financial lives of its member-owners by providing quality financial solutions, including savings and checking accounts, mortgages, auto loans, and investment services. Abound focuses on serving communities throughout central Kentucky with an emphasis on financial education and community involvement.
