Founded in 1953 in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, Union Community Bank operated as a traditional community bank dedicated to serving the financial needs of local individuals, families, and businesses. The bank offered a comprehensive suite of services, including checking and savings accounts, mortgages, personal loans, and commercial lending. In August 2019, Northwest Bancshares, Inc., the parent company of Northwest Bank, announced the acquisition of Union Community Bank. The merger was completed in the first quarter of 2020, and all Union Community Bank branches were subsequently rebranded as Northwest Bank.
