Founded in 1939 as the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers Credit Union, TruStone Financial grew to become one of the largest credit unions in Minnesota. It operated as a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative dedicated to its members' financial well-being. The institution provided a comprehensive range of services, including checking and savings accounts, mortgage and auto loans, credit cards, and investment services. In 2021, TruStone Financial merged with Firefly Credit Union, retaining the TruStone name. Subsequently, in early 2024, TruStone Financial completed a merger with Wings Credit Union, and the combined entity now operates under the Wings Credit Union name and brand.
