The Signal Iduna Group was formed in 1999 through the merger of SIGNAL Insurance Group of Dortmund and IDUNA NOVA Group of Hamburg. It is a "mutual insurance association" (VVaG), meaning it is owned by its policyholders rather than shareholders. The group offers a comprehensive range of insurance products, including health, life, accident, and property & casualty insurance. Alongside its core insurance business, Signal Iduna provides financial services such as banking, building society savings, and asset management through its various subsidiaries.
