Founded in 1980 and linked to the Army Housing Foundation (FHE), Poupex (Associação de Poupança e Empréstimo) is a non-profit financial institution with a mission to promote access to homeownership and provide financial solutions for the Brazilian military family. Its operations are similar to a bank or credit union, focusing on real estate financing (mortgages), personal loans, savings accounts, and investment products such as CDBs (Certificates of Deposit) and LCI/LCAs (Real Estate/Agribusiness Credit Bills), as well as insurance and consortium plans. The company operates under the supervision of the Central Bank of Brazil.
