Parmalat
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 1961 by Calisto Tanzi in Parma, Italy, Parmalat grew to become a leading global company in the production of UHT (ultra-high-temperature) milk. The company's business focuses on dairy products, fruit juices, and other food items under various international brands. In 2003, Parmalat collapsed in what became Europe's biggest bankruptcy due to a massive financial fraud scandal. Following a significant restructuring process, the company recovered and was subsequently acquired by the French multinational dairy products corporation Lactalis Group in 2011, under which it continues to operate globally.
