Open Trade Documents (OTD) is a collaborative industry initiative by the International Trade and Forfaiting Association (ITFA), powered by the technology platform Tradeteq. Its mission is to standardize and digitize trade finance by providing a suite of open-source, legally robust documents, such as the Master Participation Agreement (MPA) and the Uniform Promissory Note (UPN). This initiative aims to increase efficiency, reduce legal costs, and facilitate greater liquidity in the trade finance market by creating a common, machine-readable legal framework for originators, funders, and investors.
