Originally chartered in 1935, MPD Community Credit Union was established to serve the sworn and civilian members of the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C. As a not-for-profit financial institution, its mission is to provide its members with a range of affordable and high-quality financial services, including savings and checking accounts, loans, and credit cards. The credit union operates with a "people helping people" philosophy, focusing on the financial well-being of its specific membership base, which has since expanded to include other related D.C. government employee groups.
