Founded in 1993 as the Dutch branch of the UK-based Legal & General Group, Legal & General Nederland focused on providing life insurance, pension products, and bank savings solutions primarily through independent financial advisors in the Netherlands. In 2017, the company was acquired by the European life and pensions consolidator Chesnara plc. Following the acquisition, Legal & General Nederland was rebranded and continues its operations today under the name Scildon, maintaining its focus on providing financial security products for the Dutch market.
