The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 469 of the laws of Kenya, which became effective on July 1, 1995. It is the primary agency of the Government of Kenya responsible for administering, assessing, collecting, and enforcing the payment of all forms of revenue (taxes). Its core mandate is to ensure compliance with tax and customs legislation, facilitate trade, and manage revenue systems efficiently to support the country's economic development.
