Founded in 1996, the George Mason Investment Club (GMIC) is a student-managed organization at George Mason University dedicated to educating its members about finance and investing. The club provides a practical learning environment where students can apply various investing methodologies and techniques. A core function of the GMIC is the management of the GMIC Portfolio, a student-run investment fund initially established with a $100,000 donation from the George Mason University Foundation, allowing members to gain real-world portfolio management experience.
