Founded as a trust company in Canada, Equity Financial Trust Company provided a range of specialized financial services. Its core business included acting as a transfer agent and corporate trustee for public and private companies, as well as offering deposit services and administering registered accounts such as RRSPs, RRIFs, and TFSAs for investment dealers and financial advisors. In 2017, Equity Financial Holdings Inc., the parent company, was acquired by Equitable Group Inc., and its operations were subsequently integrated into Equitable Bank and its subsidiary, EQB Trust Co., which now carries on these lines of business.
