De Rotterdamse Zaak is a social enterprise and a collaborative initiative between the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, the Municipality of Rotterdam, the De Verre Bergen Foundation, and Rabobank Rotterdam. Its mission is to support the local economy by helping entrepreneurs who are facing challenges, such as financial difficulties, declining sales, or a need for strategic reorientation. The organization pairs these entrepreneurs with advanced students who, under the guidance of professionals and teachers, provide free, practical advice and assistance. This model offers tangible help to local businesses while providing students with valuable real-world experience.
