Founded in 1870 in Salvador, Bahia, the Companhia de Seguros Aliança da Bahia was one of Brazil's oldest and most traditional insurance companies. It grew significantly throughout the 20th century, establishing a strong presence across the country, particularly in the property and casualty insurance sectors. In 2000, as part of its global expansion, the Allianz Group, through its Brazilian subsidiary AGF Brasil Seguros, acquired Aliança da Bahia. The company was subsequently fully integrated, and its operations and brand were absorbed, ceasing to exist as an independent entity.
