Established in 2010, ComDer Contraparte Central S.A. is a key financial market infrastructure entity in Chile, authorized and regulated by the Comisión para el Mercado Financiero (CMF). Its primary mission is to manage and mitigate counterparty risk in the Chilean OTC derivatives market by interposing itself between the parties of a transaction, becoming the buyer to every seller and the seller to every buyer. This process, known as novation, ensures the integrity and stability of the market by guaranteeing the fulfillment of obligations even in the event of a participant's default.
