Chromia is a public blockchain platform and protocol created by the Swedish company ChromaWay AB. Launched with the mission to solve the scalability and usability problems of existing blockchain platforms, Chromia combines the security and decentralization of a blockchain with the efficiency and flexibility of a relational database. This unique architecture, known as "relational blockchain," is designed to be familiar to developers who have experience with traditional database systems, thereby lowering the barrier to entry for building complex, real-world dApps for sectors like gaming, finance, and enterprise services. The project has its own native utility token, CHR, which is used for platform fees, staking, and other ecosystem functions.
