Originally founded in 2000, CapitalSource Inc. was a prominent commercial lender specializing in providing capital to middle-market companies across the United States. Its services included senior and subordinate debt, as well as equity co-investments. In 2014, CapitalSource was acquired by PacWest Bancorp, and its operations were integrated into PacWest's commercial banking arm. In November 2023, PacWest Bancorp completed a merger with Banc of California, with the combined entity operating under the Banc of California name and brand.
