Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, American Technology Research (AmTech) was an influential boutique research firm focused exclusively on the technology industry. The firm provided institutional investors, such as hedge funds and mutual funds, with proprietary equity research, analysis, and investment recommendations on a wide range of technology stocks. AmTech was known for its high-quality, independent insights. In June 2008, the company was acquired by Broadpoint Securities Group, which later rebranded as Gleacher & Company. Gleacher & Company subsequently ceased operations and its assets were liquidated, meaning American Technology Research, Inc. no longer exists as an operational entity.
