Founded in 2009 by a consortium of major investment banks including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, Source established itself as a leading and innovative force in the European ETF market. The company focused on creating a wide range of ETPs, offering investors access to various asset classes through physically-backed, synthetic, and actively managed funds. In 2017, Invesco acquired Source, integrating its products and operations to strengthen its own ETF brand, Invesco ETFs. The acquisition marked a significant consolidation in the European asset management industry, and the Source brand was subsequently phased out.
