Founded in 1946, Fides S.p.A. is one of Italy's longest-standing financial companies with a core focus on consumer credit. The company's primary products are "Cessione del Quinto dello Stipendio e della Pensione" (assignment of one-fifth of a salary or pension) and "Delegazione di Pagamento" (payment delegation), which are forms of personal loans secured against an employee's salary or a pensioner's pension. In 2008, Fides became part of the Mediobanca Group after being acquired by Compass Banca S.p.A., further solidifying its position in the Italian consumer finance market.
