Founded in 2018 by Itay Malinger and Dan Yadlin, Curv was a pioneer in providing secure, cloud-based wallet services for digital assets, targeting institutional clients. The company's core technology utilized multi-party computation (MPC) protocols to eliminate the single point of failure associated with private keys, offering a more secure alternative to traditional cold storage or hot wallet solutions. Curv's mission was to provide enterprises with the protection, instant availability, and total autonomy over their crypto assets required to thrive in the digital economy. In March 2021, PayPal announced its acquisition of Curv to accelerate and expand its initiatives to support cryptocurrencies and digital assets. Curv's team and technology were integrated into PayPal's new blockchain, crypto, and digital currencies business unit.
