Bumper has taken a traditional custodial investment account, typically built for and run by the parents, and put the focus on younger teenagers. Kids are able to find companies and ETFs they want to own, learn about the security through news articles and analysis, and request the trade. Bumper also gives the account sponsor, typically parents or guardians, safety guardrails and controls to encourage healthy investing habits.
